As someone who was born in 1983 and was a child of the 80's and 90's, I have fond memories of that time. It may be nostalgia talking, but I consider that time to be the best of movies, music, television, games, and pretty much everything. The purpose of this blog is to look back, not only on things I grew up with and am very familiar with, but also to look at things that somehow I missed along the way. I want to explore how differently a current, adult-perspective is and whether or not the things I grew up with really are fantastically radical as I remember them being. I might not always be able to keep bias and nostalgia at bay, but I will try hard to see things as objectively as I can. So what are some of the things I'll be covering? Movies, music (especially videos), toys & games, video games, TV, cartoons, theme songs, commercials, and just about anything else I randomly wish to talk about regarding that time. And for the sake of clarity, I will be covering the years 1980 - 1995 (tentatively). I could go further into the 90's, but then I'd be entering my teen years, and no one wants to relive those ;) In all seriousness, I feel like the second half of the 90's had lost all of the 80's influence and started to become it's own era, especially in music. I feel like 1995 is a good cut-off point, for the purpose of this blog.
